VIVID, a Vektrex-developed software toolkit, is featured in the February
2003 issue of Microsoft's MSDN magazine. VIVID produces software for test
and measurement equipment, such as that developed and used by the Navy. The
toolkit leverages Microsoft technology producing software that is compliant
with industry standard specifications, as defined by the IVI Foundation.
VIVID virtually eliminates coding in development, increasing productivity,
and freeing programmers for more important tasks.
The IVI Foundation,
based in San Diego, is an open consortium founded to promote specifications
for programming test instruments that simplify interchangeability, provide
better performance, and reduce the cost of program development and
maintenance. Vektrex is a founding member of the IVI Foundation; membership
includes test and measurement industry leaders such as Agilent Technologies,
National Instruments, Rohde & Schwarz, and Tektronix. The IVI Foundation
