Vektrex announced today that
Tektronix, the world’s leading manufacturer of oscilloscopes, recently
released an IVI-COM instrument driver for its 7000 and 5000 family of
oscilloscopes that was developed using Vektrex’s VIVID driver development
tools. The driver is fully compliant with the Interchangeable Virtual
Instrument (IVI) specifications, including the IVIScope instrument class
specification.
This driver is available on the Tektronix
Website.
“To assure our IVI-COM drivers are
conformant to the IVI specifications, Tektronix uses the VIVID IVI driver
development tools, produced by Vektrex,” said Badri Malynur, Principal
Engineer at Tektronix. “The VIVID tools, which were developed with
Tektronix participation, help standardize the driver development process,
producing robust, intuitive drivers that accelerate access to measurement
data.”
Tektronix’s driver release
includes comprehensive driver help and end-user application examples,
including class compliant interface application examples supplied by
Vektrex. The driver is usable from all common test application development
environments, including .NET environments.
