Overview

The SpikeSafe 200 digital power technology provides extremely precise DC or pulsed current at compliance voltages up to 200V. Each channel can drive a large series string of devices.  For example: up to 57 3.5V LEDs.  This feature greatly reduces the cost per DUT when constructing reliability test systems. SpikeSafe algorithms rapidly detect and gracefully handle anomalies preserving devices. A built-in pulse generator and data acquisition system eliminates the need for external instrumentation, reducing the overall system footprint. The SS200 is available packaged in a single board chassis, or multiple board rack-mount crates, or a full cabinet.

SpikeSafe Current Sensing Protection

Vektrex’s proven SpikeSafe protection technology eliminates many common causes of failure, such as voltage and current transients. In addition, key parameters are continuously monitored for anomalies; if an anomaly is spotted, drive is terminated within a few microseconds, before a catastrophic device failure occurs. This rapid shutdown preserves the individual device for failure analysis, and it ensures other devices in the circuit are not damaged, significantly reducing costs.
