8563 Spectrum Analyzer

Vektrex produced interactive software for a client to provide remote control of a spectrum analyzer located in Africa from the client's facility in California via a satellite telephone connection. The remote software presented an easy to use GUI that allowed engineers to monitor important parameters remotely. In addition, a low-level command capability allowed the engineers to send any needed SCPI command to the instrument.

Additional Information

Since data would be traveling via satellite phone using PC Anywhere, it was important to keep the screen simple and limit the amount of color used.  Simple, non-3D controls and indicators were used to assure the screens were readable over the PC Anywhere link.
