Modular LED Characterization System – VEKTREX
Overview
A modular LED characterization system offers configurable capabilities including the option to characterize single and multiple devices. Time-aligned measurement of electrical, optical, thermal and spectral properties of LEDs combined with professional software brings modular LED characterization systems into this century.

Integrate multiple instruments into a single solution
The modular system integrates multiple instruments into a single solution, eliminating the complexity of managing separate test setups.
Key components for a modular LED characterization system include:
- Precision DC / Pulsed Source Measure Units (SMU) for current-voltage characterization.
- Integrating sphere for total luminous flux measurement
- Spectrometer or spectroradiometer for spectral analysis
- Temperature control and monitoring
- Graphical software enabling data vistualization and export.
Flexible triggering enables time-aligned electrical and optical measurements. See what you could not see before. See exactly where measurements occur.

Tailored To Your Needs
Everything needed to solve complicated electro-optical measurements may be configured in the modular system. Every component—from precision current sourcing and temperature control to optical measurement and data acquisition—is designed to work together seamlessly. The modular architecture makes it easy to tailor the system to your specific testing requirements while ensuring room for future expansion as your needs evolve.

Peak Wavelength
Generate high-fidelity P-I curves with exceptional repeatability across a wide dynamic range.
Precision Electrical Control
At the core of the system, the Vektrex DC/Pulsed Source Measure Unit provides highly accurate current and voltage control while simultaneously measuring electrical characteristics. Any Vektrex source measure unit may be used in the modular system. DC/pulsed SMU models are available for low current to high current applications.
Integrated Sphere Measurements
The integrating sphere captures the total light emitted by the device under test, allowing accurate measurement of luminous flux, radiant flux, and optical power. When paired with precision current sourcing, the system delivers repeatable optical data that supports product development, qualification testing, and manufacturing validation.
Spectral Analysis and Color Performance
By incorporating a spectrometer, the system measures the spectral distribution of emitted light and calculates key photometric and colorimetric parameters. Engineers can evaluate peak wavelength, dominant wavelength, color coordinates, color rendering performance, and spectral stability under varying drive conditions.
