UV and UV-C LEDs exhibit a transient voltage effect that increases Vf during the first few milliseconds of operation. While optical output is not impacted, this effect makes it impossible to use forward voltage to infer temperature. This presentation presents factors to consider with UV LED measurements. Also presented are the standards documenting LED’s and LED measurement requirements for UV LEDs.
